Refinery rehabilitation & upgrading requirements for new power station

The following work is required to be executed in the existing power station:-

a. Renewal of the 42" C.W. Cement lined pipe including
the valve.

b. Replacement of One oily sump pump.

c. Replacement of C.W. band screen, 3 Nos.

d. Renewal of No.1 Booster pump steam turbine.

e. Renewal of the 36" power plant C.W. heater.
f. Replacement of the 10" & 12" steam & feed
water range valves.

12"for 600 A steam.

10"for 400 A F.W.

22 A lump sum to purchase, install, test and commission.
items defined in Item 21 above which will remain in
operation/stand – by and also the existing building and
structures.
 
22/A Tie-ins for power and other services between the existing
and new power stations are required, to be studied &
reviewed.
 
23 Dosing system continuos  

Rehabilitation plan for the Existing Power Plant.

A. (1) Crude Oil Distillation Units.

- Replacement of existing Primary\Secondary Heaters at both Crude Units
by two new high efficiency heaters, one at each unit.

- Reconfiguration of existing Heat Exchanger for the recovery of more heat.

- Provision of Crude booster pumps to be installed adjacent to the existing desalter.


Conclusion.

The rehabilitation and Upgrading plan of Aden Refinery will greatly contribute
to the improvement of international trade balance of Yemen and the activation of
refinery and local communities.

On the other hand, since the refinery has aged more than 40years, the renovation work will be essential to maintain the safety operation and to produce the commercial grade products with competitive operation cost in the market.
