Refinery Process & Operations Units & Plants:-
The total refining capacity of this Refinery is about 8,000.000 tons/year and basically, the Refinery consists of the following
processing unit and plants.
1)
Crude Distillation Units:-
Two identical two stage 60,000 BPSD crude distillation units with integral
stabilizers separate the crude into eight primary products; Fuel gas, stabilized
light gasoline, Benzine, Naphtha, Kerosine, Light gas oil, Heavy gas oil and
residue. Boiling ranges are selected to permit production of specification by
blending without further fractionation.
2)
Platformer:-
Approximately 49 to 53% of the Benzine cut & 59 to 68% of the Naphtha cut are
combined to supply feed to a platformer with a charge capacity of 12,000 BPSD.
The feed is converted to 90 octane RM debutanized gasoline. Gas is sent to fuel
and bottoms are blended with heavy fuel oil.
3)
Solutizer Treating Unit.
Four solutizer treating units are provided with a capacity of 6000 BPSD each.
These treating units are installed to remove a substantial portion of the
mercaptans from the
light straight-run, gasoline benzine to improve odor and lead response of the
finished
gasoline.
4) Copper Chloride Treating.
Four fixed lead copper chloride units installed on the same plot as the
solutizer units treat the four stream leaving there units. Each unit has
capacity of 6000 BPSD.
5)
Sulfur Dioxide Extraction Unit.
An SO2, extraction unit is included to improve the burning quality of premium
and regular grade Kerosine and produce and extract as a component of the
autofiner feed.
Feed is approx. 8800 BPSD. An SO2 production unit is included.
6)
Autofiner.
Feed to the Autofiner consists of approx. 2500 BPSD of a mixture of Naphtha,
Kerosine & SO2, extract. The feed is desulfurized and some what improved in
octane rating. The Product is finished tractor vaporizing oil (T.V.O.). In
addition to the T.V.O.
a small amount of bottoms are produced which are blended to fuel oil, this unit
is no more in operation.
7)
Caustic Washing System.
Washing system are located on the plot of the crude units for washing four
streams
from each unit with caustic soda solution.
The four streams to these systems on the stabilized light gasoline benzine cut,
Naphtha cut and Kerosine cut. Eight systems with a capacity of 10,000 BPSD are
included to permit flexibility in operation of the crude units.
8)
Inhibitor and TEL Blending.
In this unit, inhibitor is added to the hydroformed gasoline and this product
blended with benzine and stabilized light straight rungasoline for vapour
pressure and
volatility. Tetra-ethly lead and dye are added to meet product specifications
for motor
gasoline.
9)
Chemical Storage and Handling.
Facilities are included for the storage of chemicals and catalyst consumed by
the
process units.
10)Refinery Tankage & Interconnecting Lines and Pumphouse.
11)
